2021 rok to okazja do odkrywania kina afrykańskiego od całkiem nowej strony. Zaprezentujemy niezwykły miks kina gatunkowego z innowacyjnym, nowym obliczem afrykańskiej kinematografii. W programie: komedie romantyczne, horrory, dramaty, si fi (nazywany również afrofuturyzmem), dramat historyczny, musical i oczywiście dokumenty.
Tegoroczna edycja będzie niecodzienną podróżą po kontynencie, zarówno pod kątem odkrywanych miejsc, poruszanej tematyki, jak i pod względem formalnym. Jednym z motywów przewodnich jest 'Archipelag Afryka’ – odkryjemy piękno oceanów oraz poruszymy problemy ekologiczne i społeczne z nimi związane. Problemy te stają się coraz większym wyzwaniem nie tylko dla Afryki, ale i całego świata.
Zaprezentujemy filmowe perełki z afrykańskich wysp, a szczególną uwagę skierujemy na Madagaskar: wyspę/kraj o bogatej tradycji (również kinematograficznej), który w Polsce kojarzony jest głównie z animowanymi lemurami i pingwinami – przed nami 'Haingosoa’ w reżyserii Edouarda Joubeauda oraz tradycja muzyczna i taneczna Madagaskaru.
Pokażemy mocny i ważny dokument 'Przestańcie nas filmować’ w reżyserii Jorisa Postemy, który próbuje przełamać nasze konwencjonalne myślenie dotyczące narracji o Afryce. To pozycja obowiązkowa dla edukatorów i dla każdego miłośnika tego kontynentu!
Odbędzie się szereg wydarzeń specjalnych, w tym 'Globalna edukacja w kinie’ zoganizowana we współpracy z Centrum Edukacji Obywatelskiej oraz 'Kreatywne warsztaty międzykulturowe’ we współpracy z Fundacją Przyjaźń Sztuka Edukacja. Będziemy rozmawiać o ekologii, klimacie, uchodźstwie i o sposobie prezentowania kontynentu afrykańskiego w mediach.
Zapraszamy na energetyczne koncerty i sety DJskie w wykonaniu Dejot, ODD OKODDO, Barwy, Polski Piach, AfroTuba, Balafon Brothers oraz Désiré Dauphin Rasolomampionona i Joseph Rakoto.

2021 is an opportunity to discover the cinema of the continent from a completely new perspective. We will present an unusual mix of genre cinema with an innovative new face of African filmmaking. The program includes: romantic comedies, horror movies, dramas, si-fi (or Afrofuturism), historical drama, musicals and, of course, documentaries.
This year’s edition of the festival will be quite an unusual journey across the continent, both in terms of the places discovered, the subject matter addressed, and in terms of form. One of the main themes is 'Archipelago Africa’ – we will discover the beauty of the oceans, but also touch upon the ecological and social problems related to them, which are becoming an increasing challenge not only for Africa, but also for the whole world.
We will present cinematographic gems from African islands, and special attention will be paid to Madagascar, an extraordinary island with a rich tradition (also in cinematography), which in Poland is mainly associated with animated lemurs and penguins. We will also discover the unique musical and dance tradition of Madagascar as shown, among others, in the film 'Haingosoa’ directed by Edouard Joubeaud.
We will also show an extremely powerful and important documentary 'Stop filming us’ directed by Joris Postema, which tries to break our conventional thinking about the Africa narrative. This is a must-see for educators as well as for any lover of the continent!
The festival will feature a number of special events, including 'Global Education through Cinema’, organized in cooperation with the Center for Citizenship Education, during which we will talk about ecology, climate, refugees, or present the African continent in the media.
We invite you to energetic concerts and DJ sets performed by Dejot, ODD OKODDO and the Polish DJ Piach, reggae group Barwy, Afrotuba, Balafon Brothers and Désiré Dauphin Rasolomampionona and Joseph Rakoto.
